50 facts about me

 This is just a fun little introductory post. 50 facts about me (cliché I know) - enjoy!
  1. My full name is Nikita Ella Yasmin Softley
  2. I am 19 years old
  3. I am currently training at London Studio Centre
  4. I have a little sister called Tamzyn
  5. I am 5 ft 2.5 in (the 0.5 makes all the difference!)
  6. My hair is so long it touches my bum
  7. My Zodiac sign is Aries
  8. My favourite films are Finding Neverland, The parent trap and Pretty Woman
  9. My dream holiday destination would be Hawaii
  10. I can Spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in both British and America sign language
  11. My mums labour with me aired on the 6 O'clock news the day I was born.
  12. I am vegetarian 
  13. I am allergic to cats but own three
  14. As a kid I always used to fall asleep with one eye open and this majorly freaked out my mum
  15. My favourite colour is yellow
  16. I have 11 GCSE's, 1 AS Level, 3 A Levels and am currently studying my degree
  17. My name means Victorious
  18. When I was little I wanted to be a trapeze artist
  19. I am part of a world record for the largest vocal warm up 
  20. When I was a kid I used to be scared of Santa (no child wants an old man sneaking in their room whilst they're sleeping, even if he is leaving toys)
  21. I'm named after the Elton John song 'Nikita'
  22. My lucky numbers are 7 and 34
  23. My favourite musical is Half a Sixpence
  24. You'll rarely see me dressed in something that isn't sportswear or PJ's
  25. I have only two piercings (one in each ear) and no tattoos
  26. I have a massive fear of fire
  27. I really want to live to 100 just so I can receive a letter from the Monarch
  28. I taught myself how to say the alphabet backwards
  29. I'm currently trying to teach myself how to play the Piano and the Banjo
  30. Skydiving is on my Bucket list
  31. I gave up using heat on my hair for six years and now its really long and healthy!
  32. I hope to one day simultaneously own a Maine Coon and a Dachshund 
  33. My favourite foods are mashed potatoes, coconut, peanut butter and avocado (but not together)
  34. I have really short baby fingers and everyone laughs at their stumpiness
  35. I don't have a birth mark
  36. I used to have self-dyed ombré hair (which in all honesty didn't look that bad)
  37. I have a lot of pet peeves. Heres a few... lazy people, slow walkers, smoking, people who leave the microwave door open, drivers who overtake you even when you're driving the speed limit and people who don't turn the power switch off at plug sockets
  38. My favourite TV shows are Switched at Birth, Our Girl, Taskmaster, Love Island and of course F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
  39. I have my own car (cute little Toyota Aygo)
  40. I love the smell of fresh linen 
  41. I have a memory like an Elephant
  42. I like to collect magnets from famous places I've been and shows I've seen
  43. I started wearing make up to school when I was 9 years old
  44. I'm secretly a massive Harry Potter nerd
  45. My ideal date would be something outdoors and adventurous... Go Ape, Jet skiing, a bike ride, rock climbing etc.
  46. Sunflowers are my favourite flower
  47. I'm a massive people pleaser and often get told to be more selfish
  48. My favourite animals are Otters (because they fall asleep holding hands - awwwhhhhhh!)
  49. I sing pretty much 24/7 and drive my family nuts
  50. I found writing this post really hard, finding 50 interesting facts about yourself isn't easy!

Generating 'The Click' The Click *finger snap* is a little group formed by London Studio Centre students; Francesca Dunham, Sophie Eccles and myself, Nikita Softley. We set out to create a short documentary-style video of a photoshoot we planned around the heart of London. This video aims to showcase how location affects the aesthetic of a dancer’s line, and how site-specific photography can create new opportunities in terms of set and props. Emma Williams - Careers, Fears and Singing with no Underwear #LDNProject

I already know this is going to be a blog post I constantly come back to for inspiration and fond memories. This is the second post in my little series called 'The London Project' where I've been documenting my thoughts and experiences of life in London and all things Musical Theatre. On Sunday 15th October 2017 I was ecstatic to be meet one of the West Ends finest treasures, my inspiration, the wonderful Emma Williams. Emma Williams is a renowned singer, dancer and actress from York who made her West End debut at just 18 years old when she scored the leading female role, Truly Scrumptious, in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. Emma has since gone on to perform in an increasing number of musicals including 'Mrs Henderson Presents', 'Annie get your Gun' and 'Half a Sixpence'. I was lucky enough to attain tickets to her intimate gig at PizzaExpress LIVE, Holborn, as she performed and was interviewed by radio presenter and journalist Edward Seckerson....
